Fine lines, wrinkles, tear troughs, nasolabial folds, and midface hollows are common signs of aging. Restylane allows you to reverse the signs of aging and sculpt your facial features to enhance your beauty with a few painless injections.
What is Restylane?
Restylane is a dermal filler made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that makes your skin look soft, supple, and youthful. When injected into targeted areas on your face, Restylane fills in the fine lines and wrinkles, restores volume to the cheeks, chin, and lips, and sculpts your natural facial features. Dr. Fernandez can also combine Restylane with other fillers to provide non-surgical facelifts.
What Does Restylane Treat?
Fine Lines & Wrinkles: Restylane fills in the fine lines, wrinkles, and creases on your face, such as the perioral lines around the lips, nasolabial folds around the nose, and marionette lines around the mouth
Midface Region: Restylane restores volume to the cheeks and under-eye regions, thereby correcting the age-related loss of midface volume and tear troughs
Chin & Jawline: Restylane is used to strategically add volume in targeted areas of your chin and jawline, thereby helping you achieve a chiseled look
Lips: Restylane can be injected in and around the lips to enhance your overall lip volume and fullness and soften the perioral lines around your lips
How Does Restylane Work?
Restylane is made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that makes your skin look soft, supple, voluminous, and youthful. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is extremely natural without animal-based ingredients, so there’s no risk of allergic reactions. When injected under targeted facial tissues, the hyaluronic acid binds water to itself and expands, thereby restoring volume to your cheeks, chin, lips, and other facial regions.
Dr. Fernandez examines your facial features, discusses your goals, and reviews your medical history. He selects the appropriate Restylane dose to ensure natural-looking results. Your skin is cleansed, and a numbing gel is applied to ensure comfort. Finally, the physician injects Restylane into targeted areas on your face using ultrafine needles. The treatment concludes within 15 to 20 minutes.
What Are the Side Effects of Restylane?
Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, and bruising are the most common side effects of Restylane. Since the hyaluronic acid in Restylane isn’t modified with animal byproducts, the risk of allergies is minimal. You can resume your daily activities and work immediately, but you should avoid strenuous workouts for a day.
What Are the Results Like?
Restylane produces instant results that gradually improve over several days as the side effects dissipate. The results last for 6 to 18 months, depending on the dose and the treatment area.
